Get The Royal Treatment at Sura Korean Restaurant

According to Sura's website, the Korean word "sura" translates to "meal of the royal family." Many regulars of this Oxnard restaurant note that Sura makes a point to treat customers like royalty!

The dining room has an open kitchen, so you can see all of the traditional foods being made. If you’re not sure what to order, ask your friendly and helpful server. A good place to start is with the popular tofu soup with kimchee. Move on to other favorites like spicy pork or seafood soondubu. You also can’t go wrong with one of the Korean barbecue specials.

Open Sundays through Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sura is a good spot for lunch or dinner. Take-out is also available.

Ah, parsley. It’s truly the perfect herb, complementing everything from meats to salads to salad dressings. If you simply can’t get enough parsley, you’ll be happy to find that there are seemingly endless number of recipes made better by this one simple garnish. Here are three new recipes perfected by parsley!

Parsley Leaf Salad
Though parsley is normally an accent to other foods, in this salad recipe the herb takes center stage. The delicate leaves provide an earthy taste, while pine nuts, capers, and red onion add a bit of crunch, flavor, and substance to every bite. Top with freshly ground pepper and extra-virgin olive oil to create a tasty and attractive dinner party salad.

Linguine with Toasted Almonds, Parsley and Lemon
Whole wheat noodles create the base for this hearty, rustic pasta. It’s tossed in a combination of lemon, Romano cheese, and olive oil, while parsley and almonds impart a special crunch.

Traditional Chimichurri
Chimichurri is a staple in Argentinean cuisine, and a bowl of this zesty oil-based sauce can be found on every dinner table. The blend of parsley, olive oil, garlic, and vinegar is very similar to a simple pesto, but the addition of crushed red pepper really sets it apart.

The Curry Leaf: A Camarillo Indian Restaurant

The Curry Leaf is situated in an unassuming shopping center on Mission Oaks Boulevard, but its Indian cuisine is anything but ordinary. The decor is simple, with white tablecloths topped with brown butcher paper and quiet Indian music playing in the background. Owner Sandy Pujji is a visible fixture at the front of the house, greeting diners, serving food and making sure everyone at this Camarillo Indian restaruant is satisfied.

Regulars recommend the garlic cauliflower appetizer and the chicken tikka masala entree, as well as the garlic naan. Other highlights of the menu include the mulligatawny soup, described as having a tangy taste of lemon combined with the sweetness of apple and a curry kick. If you have room for dessert, try the gulab jamin, which are small Indian doughnuts in syrup made from butter, sugar, and cardamom.

The Curry Leaf is open Tuesday through Sunday. Its hours are 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
